Founded in 2025, CAHF is dedicated to helping ensure that the scenic open spaces that have made the Carbondale area so special are preserved for the visual and experiential enjoyment of future generations.
Honoring Agricultural Heritage
Ranch land is a core part of Carbondale’s heritage and aesthetic character. Traditions like Potato Days celebrate this important part of Roaring Fork Valley culture and history. Preserving ranch lands as open space that future generations can enjoy honors that heritage.
Sustaining Open Space
Ensuring community access to parks, trails, and the benefits of open space conservation requires real work. CAHF is committed to supporting efforts that ensure a sustainable connection with nature and the enjoyment of outdoor experiences in open spaces.
We support the protection of Carbondale open space for future generations. Our mission is to ensure the scenic beauty provided by working ranch lands, and former ranch lands, is a sustainable element of our community experience.

Funding for CAHF is generously provided by the homeowners of River Valley Ranch. Each home sale in RVR results in a contribution to CAHF to support our sustained mission to preserve and enable access to the scenic open space in our community.
